Dancing Lady

Take a look at the dancer and confirm its direction of turning. Close your eyes and reopen to focus on the turning dancer again. If it turns the other way round, it is not magic. It is your brain is playing a trick on you. Scroll down and see if you are a genius or not.

If you see this lady turning clockwise, you are using your right brain.
If you see it the other way, you are using your left brain.
Some people do see both ways, but most people see it only one way.
If you try to see it the other way and if you do see it easily, your IQ is above 160 which is almost a genius.
NOTE: BOTH DIRECTIONS CAN BE SEEN.

Multilayer Eggless Eggtarts

Craving for Eggtarts but can't find them here in Moscow? Make some for yourself today!

It's very easy. This was my first time making it too after looking at several recipes. I modified some parts of the recipes so that the ingredients are economical & easy to get, so I hope you all will like it.

What you need:

Make 20 servings
Dough A (Oil-based Dough)
1 1/2 cup Flour <-- Normal flour you can find in Rinak
150 g Butter <-- Don't use margarine for better aroma
Shortening (50 g) <-- I replaced it with cooking oil

Dough B
(Water-based dough)
1 1/2 cup Flour
100 ml Water
1 Egg
100 g Sugar
Shortening (30 g) <-- cooking oil

Filling
3 tbl sp. Custard powder <-- or you can substitute this with the same amount of corn flour + one drop of yellow colouring + vanilla essence
2 cups of Milk
3 tbl sp. Sugar

Crust Making
:

1) Leave the butter at room temperature beforehand. Make dough A by mixing all of its ingredients in a bowl. Use a spade or your hand to mix the dough. Knead it until it's mixed thoroughly.

2) Flatten the dough into a 5mm layer using a rolling pin. (P/s: For those who don't have rolling pins, just use your fingers to flatten it unto a flat plate, like what I did.) Refrigerate for at least 30min.

3) Start making Dough B. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl (you can use the same bowl). Pour in the water little by little. You wouldn't want your dough to be too moist. When it's done, flatten it like how I'd taught you to do with Dough A and layer it on top of Dough A in the same plate. Refrigerate for another 30 minutes.

4) While waiting for the dough, start making the custard filling. Mix everything in a pan (preferably a non-stick one) and heat with low flame. Keep stirring to prevent lumps from forming. Remove it from the fire when the sauce is thick enough.

5) Take the dough out from the fridge. Fold over and flatten it. Repeat this step 2-3 times and you'll get the multilayer effect =) (See Picture).

6) Flatten the dough to 5 mm in thickness. Use a sharp-edged cup to cut the dough into round shapes. Fit the small pieces of dough into the aluminum foil molds (You can get it from Ashan at an affordable price). Fill with custard sauce.

7) Preheat the oven. Bake them at 240'C for 20-30 mins. (This depends on the colour of the crust you want). For a better appearance, you can brush a thin layer of thick sugar syrup on top and return it to bake for another 5mins. This will give you the famous golden yellow colour.
(See picture: the layers of crust =) )

Me aka the chef with the first batch of eggtart =P

P/s: If you make too much dough, don't throw it away! Use the dough to make some Sloika..hehe. Use your creativity, rummage your fridge for the filings (some suggestion: cheese, hotdog, fruit jam, chocolate paste, etc). (See Picture)

P/s: Couldn't get the mold? No problem. Again, use your creativity and make the shape you want, it would still taste the same as eggtart... lolz (See Picture)

Oh btw, does anyone know what is custard powder made out of? Below is the link where you can learn more about what custard powder is -->

So, drooling yet? Get out of that chair and go make yourself some eggless eggtarts today! :P

握緊

I came to this song recently and was touched by the story behind. This song came out around 5 years ago, in the album Lonely Travel. The singer, Sun Ho was trying to ask all the us to not to hold too tight to the past, although it may be hard and challenging for us to let go what is bothering us now. This song touches my heart, hope it touches yours too.

Let's Sketch =P

Lacking time to study yet craving for computer games? Wanna play sumthing easy but fun? Here is my recommendation for you...

Friends, I present you the "Guess the sketch challenge". It is a very easy game to play. All you just need are some brain power & your fingers and you're ready to go... Oh ya..and also a Facebook account. Just search for it after you've logged into your facebook account and you'll find it. You can even invite your friends to join you or play it with other FB users.

Choose the group you want to join.
(P/s: Remember to look for the English group unless you know some other language..lolz)

Here are some snapshots of the game & how it's played:

Try to guess what other players are drawing by typing your guesses at the left bottom corner.
Keep on typing until you get the correct answer.

(P/s: The faster you guess the correct answer, the higher the score you'll get! So think fast and act even faster..)

Yay, it's now your turn to draw!
Your theme will be shown at the center of the drawing board.
Use your drawing skills fully, and make sure other players can guess what you're sketching easily.
The more the number of players who guess correctly, the more points you'll get.

(P/s: No spelling is allowed, you can be reported or voided by other players if you do so.)

Well, sometimes you'll encounter situations when you dunno what the sketches are...
Look at the snapshot below, can u guess what is this player trying to draw?
Err..grass, field, mud, etc...? Try guessing..

The answer is ground.

My advise to you is... Simply type whatever pops into your head and keep on guessing.
Try your best.

At the bottom of your page is the ranking of you and your friends who are playing this game.
Check out my ranking..haha. I'm still trying to break my own record..haiz.

Tips from the master:
1) When you're very sure that your guessing is correct, type it many many times before the system detects your answer, and you'll get the marks for every of the same answer you typed.
2) Don't hesitate to use your free bonus hints when you dunno what the sketch is as the faster you get the answer, the higher score you'll get..(You'll get them daily when you play the game).
3) Squeeze your brain, and type anything you can think of b'coz the first player to correctly guess the answer gets much more points than the others who get the correct answer second or third and so on.
4) Remember all the themes which you've encountered as they will keep repeating themselves.

Hope you like this game! Enjoy... See ya at the challenge.
